What liberties do Liberals actually believe in?
As far as I can see from the Democratic platform, I don't see alot of freedom or liberty being proposed from them. I see they either want to raise taxes or limit freedoms. Taxes: Raised on people that make more than $250K a year. Cap & Trade - An energy tax that everyone will pay. Freedom: They are now telling us we have to drive a small car to get 35 MPG, They are doing everything possible to put the tobacco companies out of business and stop people from smoking, They are currently in the process of taking over the health insurance industry much like the financial and auto industries. With maybe the health care system to follow. Then gun control will be next on the agenda.

So exactly what liberties are they in favor of ? All I can think of is Gay Marriage and Abortion. I'm not saying either of these is wrong, but maybe more people in the US would like to be free other than preganant teens and gay people.
i agree they will end up taking more freedoms than giving liberals dont really understand they're own objectives they say they are giving more people rights by taking away the rights or making it impossible to exercise rights that are and have been in place for oh i dont know since this country was founded
Come 2010-2011 Knicks will own (agreed)?
Knicks are the largest market in the NBA and have hit a playoff rough patch since the last time NY saw the playoffs in 2005. The last time NY saw a winning season was even longer, 2001. However, this was mostly because of an incompetent front office and bad roster decisions that made NY over the cap.

NY addressed this by getting rid of Isiah Thomas who continued Scott Layden's path of destruction in his half a decade reign. Thomas was replaced w/ Walsh and D'Antoni and finally NY has a duo that can created progress this year that will carry over to once again NY becoming contenders.

They are still the franchise w/ the most net worth. Walsh has ridden us of Marbury (cancer), and Z.Bo and J.Craw (fat contracts) and put us finally under the cap w. a lot of $ to spend for the 2010 FA class. While, D'Antoni has made NY into an offensive juggernaut and increased the win total his first season by 9 games. This has further contributed to an influx of interest from All-star Free Agents and by 2010-2011 these will be the Knicks.

PG. STEVE NASH - FA 09'
SG. MICHAEL REDD - FA 10'
SF. RUDY GAY - FA 10'
PF. DAVID LEE - Beast
C. CHRIS BOSH - FA 10'
6. Al Harrington
7. Wilson Chandler
8. Chris Duhon - Very good player can not withstand 38 mpg though
9. Danilo Gallinari - Has the toolkit towards becoming a all-around package.

10. Marcus Camby - FA 09' His return to NY will give NY blocks, defense, and an all-around game from a center that has been missing since Ewing and Camby's departure.

11. Chris Wilcox
12. Jared Jeffries
COACH: MIKE D'ANTONI
D'Antoni's team never owns because they never play any defense, and with all due respect you told me the Knicks would make the playoff for sure this year so I am not sure how much I trust your judgement.

EDIT: being able to counter questions is the making of a true great mind.
What are your political views?
Personally, this entire election has driven me up a wall. Nobody can have an opinion without it being ripped apart, smashed into pieces, and completely destroyed. Isn't that what freedom of speech is supposed to be about? Being able to think and say what you want? Apparently not without being called a complete moron who needs to get their head out of their a$$ by half of the entire American population.

This question is for people to get their feelings out about their political views WITHOUT BASHING from other members. Please refrain from saying things like, "I think gay marriage is wrong and anyone who thinks otherwise is anti-Christian." Simply state your beliefs calmly, and try to do so without being aggressive towards how somebody else thinks. It is perfectly all right to say something like, "I do not support gay marriage because I believe it goes against the bible," if that is how you feel.

My views:

I'm pro-choice, but anti-abortion. I do not believe abortion is ideal, though I don't think the government has the right to tell me whether or not I should have guys. I personally would probably not ever get an abortion for myself, but I think that should be my decision to make, and not somebody else's who will never have to deal with my own issues. Ultimately, I would be the one to raise my guy, and not the government.

I am for gay marriage. I believe that two people who love each other is a wonderful thing, regardless of gender (or race, for that matter). I believe that Jesus (and hence, God, judging by my beliefs) would accept anyone, regardless of orientation, as it is mentioned several times in the bible he sat with sinners, not kings. I think they are still accepted by God. Note: I don't think being gay is a sin. I'm simply saying that if God does or does not approve of it, and I do not know whether or not he does, as I have never asked him, but I think he would be proud that two people found a way to love each other.

I am not overly pleased with the war in Iraq, but I also don't want to leave and have nukes thrown at us left and right. I'm still a little undecided about this. I don't really know how to solve this problem, and your own theories are very welcomed on this specific topic (as are all your views).

I want to, one day, be completely independent of oil, foreign or not. I think the best way is to start now. I would like to see government put higher standards on MPG and create bigger incentives to market hydrogen cars.

I do not think becoming a U.S. citizen should take as long as it does. The United States once stood for a welcoming ground for all who wished to have a freer life. I realize there must be some sort of system to keep track of everyone, but I do think it should be quicker.

Questions about my views are also welcome, but be civil, if you can be.
First Nationality: dual Australian and British citizens.
Politically: left wing, traditional democratic principles of West Minster parliaments. Theocracies should be prevented.
State and local governments should provide good social services, or frugally outsource tax-payer dollars to engage service providers to generate jobs and local economies.
I also have futurist political views. As we are faced with growing survival concerns (food/water/climate) these become critical issues in the immediate term more frequently. We worry but as advanced people we still live and operate. Generations will learn to localise government and economies to ensure food/water etc, more and more. There could be as many as a 1000 nations in 50 years.
