What do those bumper stickers that are black with a blue minus sign mean?
I keep seeing them on cars and I wonder if they are related to the yellow equal rights for gays/lesbians bumper stickers or if they are something else? I tried looking on the web and a lot of answers seem to point to being colorblind (race equality) but I have not the slightest clue. Just curious.
They are "Thin Blue Line" stickers which signify support for law enforcement personnel.

The police are the "thin blue line" that protects society from those who can not follow the rules.

There is also a red line version, which is in support of Fire / Rescue personnel.
Do you think the rainbow stickers attract unnecessary negativity and potential violence from homophobes?

Do you currently have a sticker signifying your orientation?
I do, actually. Any stickers placed on one's car yields unnecessary attention. Whether it be an Obama sticker, or the Palintologist sticker I saw the other day (My God, I would bash in her windows if I could), or even the "My Golden Retriever is smarter than your honor student" sticker. All of it makes people more vulnerable to attacks -- not just gays and lesbians.
Where did all those 0bama bumper stickers go?
They were everywhere, but now the Prius driver down the street removed his. The hippies at the food co-op took down their rainbow 0bama flag long ago, as did my lesbian girlfriends. None of my 0bama-supporting acquaintances ever mention "Barry" now.
What happened? Is 0bama no longer hip? Is he "like, so yesterday"? Why? Has he not released a new album lately?
I guess he's dropped from rock star to bar band status with the libs.

@Chris R or Mando or whoever you'll be tomorrow. YOU SUCK YOU RACIST SCUM.
My wife was pulled over the other day and she hadn't done anything...?
The officer told her she'd been speeding but she was going about 65 (this was on the open freeway). I believe it was because she has lesbian stickers all over the car and that the officer was discriminating. She has them on the windows(back, sides and maybe 2 or 3 on the front), she has them on the bumper and she has some on the trunk. A lot of rainbow. Is there anything I can do to appeal the ticket?
Sounds like she needs to try driving on the other side of the road,
What LGBT symbols do you use? In your home? Jewelry? Keychain? Clothing? Bumper stickers?
I have a skinny, rainbow beaded keychain & a purple butterfly because in Mexico a butterfly, a "mariposa" can mean lesbian. I'm working on getting more subtle signs, too...
Diversity sticker on my car, button on my messenger bag that says "My parents said I could be anything so I became a lesbian", t-shirt that says "hooray for boobies" amoung others, large butterfly on my inner ankle and great big ribbons tied round the tree in front of my house (one for each color of the rainbow).
What's the deal with lesbians and the Superman logo?
Shirts, key chains, bumper stickers, decals, posters, tattoos, etc. Why has the 'S' become this lesbian icon? Is it just a coincidence that tons of gay girls have this logo? What's up with that?
yes i have noticed that too and i have no idea why lots of lesbians like the superman logo. im rather sick of it
I found out my mum is a lesbian....?
ye well a couple of months ago i found out my mum is a lesbian and she is in a relation ship with an american woman who she knew from school. she is in america and my mum is always on the phone to her. at first i was really freaked out about it and she keeps crying alot and i dont know how to react. my dad left when i was younger and she has always been a great mum but i dont know if i can still fell the same way about her.

also she has develoved a huge "HELLO KITTY" obsession! she pays soo much money for these wierd toys and plates and stickers..... is this a side effect of her being a lesbian???
how should i react to all of this?
It's your mom. Her being a lesbian shouldn't affect the way that you feel about her. Just love her like you've always loved her. I'm sure she'd love that, and it would probably break her heart if you felt differently about her upon hearing that she's a lesbian. Most people who are gay are born that way, and I'm sure it's a little weird for you, but see if you can get past that. I'm sure she still loves you, and her being lesbian doesn't change that in the slightest.
Are there a lot of lesbian/gay couples in your area?
I'm in the bay area of California, which is supposed to be (among) the most gay friendly/populated place(s) in the world...

It's strange because I hadn't seen many lesbian couples until recently. I was in the mall yesterday, and saw a young HS les couple shopping for a prom dress. And shortly after, another les couple about my age in Sephora, hand in hand. Today, I saw an older lesbian couple carrying a baby into their apartment. And a balcony in an apartment complex on my street that has a rainbow flag over the edge and a car parked on the street that has rainbow stickers on it...I was just walking today and thinking about it and felt more hopeful about a les relationship.
I live in the most conservative area in Texas. I have never seen a same-sex couple in real life. It's odd though, because there's not even an strong undercurrent of anti-gay ideals.
Cute moment...possibly a lesbian one?
Anyway, I had a little page of stickers and I stopped by her room and asked if she wanted one. She jumped up from her chair at the computer and came over. She then stood on her tiptoes and pointed her head down as if to put it on her forehead. She then kinda laughed and turned her head for me to put it on her cheek. I did. I pressed it a little to the left of her mouth and we both laughed. She took it off and put it on her whiteboard. I said she shouldn't cause it would stick forever and she said that it wouldn't. But it's still there, though she tried taking it off after we went through a hateful period...But yea, I felt like it was a moment albeit small.

She says she's straight. Though I know she found me attractive in the beginning of the year(it was so obvious) and she kissed a couple girls in HS "to give herself a chance". A couple female celebs "give her butterflies". And her half-sis is lesbian with a girlfriend. I believe she is open. She does have a long distance, long term bf who she sees once every few months...he's also pretty feminine...She's a junior(college), I'm a freshman(college). There were other moment as well as this one btw.
your confused... no one can give you advice that will help, unless it reassures what you want to hear. Ask her what she feels. I am not against gay, I favour them. Do what you feel is right.
