| dose your computer have a card reader? or dose your printer have a card reader? do you have the usb interface cable to go between the computer and the camera? ok for the card open slot push in easy on disk and pull it out. then insert the disk into your card reader go to my computer and go to that drive copy and paste all the picture you want on to your hard drive in my pictures then you can print email copy fix and do all sorts of things with your picture with what ever picture software you have. erase all the pictures onthe memory card and then pull it out of your card reader and put it back in your camera if you have a usb interface cable plug it in and do the same in my computer good luck |

I'm a bit paranoid of someone hacking or stealing my files off desktop via Bluetooth or using the inbuilt webcam to peep on me while i work or even steal my private files. SO....i uninstalled (removed) the bluetooth software and the webcam software.However : The webcam is still inbuilt - I could only remove the software The bluetooth is also inbuilt - It still shows up on my network connections, so i have disabled it what else do i need to do with the bluetooth & webcam to ensure that nobody can use these 2 options to steal stuff of my hard drive ? I have important files on my hard drive and many other laptops (w/ BT + webcams) are in close proximity to mine. any help is appreciated. thanks i know, i know...I'm paranoid (but better safe than sorry) |
| Your built in camera and bluetooth are not really security risks unless you set the bluetooth to be an open connection to any device. Bluetooth requires device "pairing" in order to make a connection. This is done by sending a connection request between the devices and adding the security code generated to the requesting device. Otherwise, the devices will see each other, but won't be able to connect. |

| Bluetooth connections can be set to 'hidden' instead of discoverable. Bluesnarfing (copying information from a bluetooth device that you don't own) relies on either hacking a MAC address through brute force - something script guydies won't be able to do anyway - or just browsing onto a discoverable bluetooth device. Connect it to your PC, make the connection automatic in the bluetooth software, and change it to hidden. That way it won't show up when other people search for bluetooth devices. Bluetooth roaming distance is pretty awful anyway, they'd have to be stood like right next to you to even discover it :) Alternatively, just enable encryption! Adds that extra layer of security (even if it does take like 10min to break with XOR attacks - its one extra thing an attacker would have to know how to do) Hope that helps some. Edit: The webcam thing, if you're not going to use it uninstall it from the control panel > system > hardware > device manager. Pretty much every trojan out there has the ability to allow viewing over victim's webcam. Can uninstall the bluetooth device from here too. |

| The only way to know for sure is to test it yourself. Turn your cam on, sign in to Yahoo messenger and go in the menu find "Messenger>My Webcam", messenger should detect your cam automatically. If it tells you that "...no Webcam was found on your system" you know that it can't be done. I think it should work since a webcam is a webcam even when it come with xbox360. |
